Discover tailored care at our clinic with our comprehensive and personalized new patient visits. New patient visits are 50 minutes, ensuring ample time for thorough assessment and discussion.

A 2 month follow up visit is required after initiating hormone therapy. We want to ensure optimal dosing and symptom management. Our follow-up visits last 25 minutes. Subsequent visits may be necessary, particularly for those embarking on testosterone therapy or encountering new health considerations. Once you are established on hormone therapy at an effective dose, one annual visit is required.

An annual visit is the standard of care to continue prescribing medications. This appointment is 30 minutes in duration. Please bring any recent laboratory results or imaging studies to your appointment, if available or requested.

Weight loss visits for our established patients are $300 and include a full body composition analysis using our InBody 580 scanner, which measures body fat percentage, visceral fat, and muscle mass. This allows us to closely monitor progress and minimize loss of lean muscle during treatment. Patients are typically seen at baseline, at two months, and then every three months until reaching a maintenance phase of every 6 months . Visits are currently offered in-office; telehealth patients may contact our office to discuss participation options. Patients should have completed standard annual lab work within the past year prior to starting treatment. For those with type 2 diabetes, we recommend ongoing management with an endocrinologist rather than initiating GLP therapy through our practice.

We welcome new patients to schedule a "New Patient Visit," whose primary concerns include perimenopause or menopause, as weight management is most effective when addressed within this broader hormonal and metabolic context.

Insurance

We do not participate with insurance plans, enabling us to extend appointment durations to more than double the length of conventional models. We can provide patients with a superbill that can be submitted to their health insurance for potential reimbursement under out-of-network coverage. Please note, patients with Medicare are not eligible to submit a superbill to Medicare for reimbursement of services. Patients also have the option to use Health Savings Account (HSA) funds for our services.

Although we do not participate with insurance plans, we still collect insurance information to help facilitate coverage for prescriptions, labs, and imaging. Majority of insurance policies cover most of the prescriptions and labs ordered by our provider. This is dependent on your insurance carrier and we recommend consulting your insurance provider to confirm specific coverage, such as drug-formulary.

Payment

We will collect payment for services before the time of your visit. If you choose to keep your card on file, your card will be run up to 48 hours in advance of your appointment and a transaction receipt will be emailed to you. If a card is not on file, you may choose to pay via the patient portal, by calling our office, or via a PayPal invoice emailed to you. Payment must be received before services are rendered. If payment has not been received 2 days before your appointment, your appointment will be canceled and need to be rescheduled.

At San Diego Menopause Clinic, we are dedicated to offering accessible and personalized care to support you during the menopausal transition. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment, please don't hesitate to reach out to our office. We look forward to assisting you on your menopause journey.
